Montería opens its doors for you!!

Montería is located in the department of Córdoba, this beautiful city is Córdoba’s capital city. There are a lot of places you can visit, but you should definitely have to try the “Planchones” a ferry system, consisting of a wooden raft that crosses the big and nice Sinú river. It is one of the main features of the city. You can see the marvelous cultural heritages as gold and clay artefacts of indigenous Zenú, Indians and African descendants. The Vueltiao hat is a typical garment of Córdoba which is a craft hat made by “Monterianos”, they are made from the leaves of the arrow reed native to the region. Montería is known all over the world because of its famous annual festival which celebrates to be the capital of the Agriculture and Cattle in Colombia. Montería really is a splendid place for you to go in your vacation.

NATIONAL COFFEE PARK.

The national coffee park is located in Quindío department in the town of Montenegro, it close to the department capital city Armenia. The national coffee park is one of the best parks in Colombia. The park has an average of 2,000 visitors every day. One of the best attractions is one that takes you up so you can see all the park, its name is la cumber. La cumber takes you up 40 mtr up, then you fall down.

When you get into the park you have 2 options, you choose from walking or getting into the cable railway. The advantage if you walk is that you can buy things on the way and take pictures at the stores. And the advantage if you get into the cable railway is that you can see the park from above, workers from the park take photos that you can buy later.

The national coffee park counts with 800 helpers that guide you and help you in all you need. I really recommend this park for you to visit it.

 SAMUEL PALMA

CAÑO CRISTALES, AN UNUSUAL PLACE

Caño Cristales is an interesting and unusual Colombian river. It is located in the Serrania de la Macarena in the department of Meta.

It is recognized as the “River of five colors” or the “Liquid rainbow” all over the world because it always has five light colors: yellow, green, blue, black and especially red. The river’s surroundings have a big amount of biodiversity. There are about 420 species of birds, 10 amphibians, 43 reptiles and 8 primates. This is not a simple trip it’s an marvelous adventure. You can have long walks, accompanied by a tour guide. I could be a bit more expensive. If you want that, this adventure is cheaper you could stay in a simple hotel and do not have tour guide. There you can sighsee or have an excursion a long Guayabero river to Caño Cristales. This adventure could be the best of your life.

OUR MARVELOUS COUNTRY, COLOMBIA!!

Dear bloggers,
Today in our class we had the chance to talk about the wonderful place where we live. I challenged you with some questions about the departments and cities of Colombia,  and I think we can conclude that there is still a lot to learn.
In this moment everyone has a tiny piece of paper with the name of a department that you picked as a matter of luck. That piece of paper will open a door for you to discover places of Colombia you probably didn't know. Your first task this afternoon is to get informed about the wonders of that department you got. The web is a great tool for you to read, see images and videos that help you decide on the city, town or tourist spot you will choose for your project. Tomorrow you will have to let me know your decision.
