ReplyDeleteI love history, food and shopping! Cartagena is a must see on my next visit to Colombia! You make me want to see the walled city for sure!
Late last century, the BBC filmed a prize-winning TV series "Nostromo" in the city: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nostromo_(TV_serial). Constructing the fortress took many lives and was so expensive the Queen Elizabeth told the Spanish ambassador to The Court of Saint James (i.e. London) that "We are surprised we cannot see it from here."
